There amp and all is setup so when you start cranking that volume the amp filters out what will distort the speakers which is your music. So you could have a rely good sound with a lot of bass and sounds great but that is all. The system has not mids in its setup. If you were to hear even a cheap aftermarket setup you would simply not be saying what you are saying. "a system that has components an amp and a sub" Simply put bose is junk there speakers are made out of something close to paper just like the factory ones, and the speakers just have to much bass no mids and the tweeters are harsh.
