Another AXXESS Question--Connections
I am trying to get the Axxess module wired up and am a bit confused by the wire connections. Per the instructions, so far I have Axxess Black to my Crutchfield supplied connector Ground wire (which I will ground to the HU bracket), and the Axxess Red to the Crutchfield supplied Red switched power wire. This is where I am getting mixed up.
The Crutchfield connector Red switched wire is in the position of Pin #16. The Axxess instructions state to connect the Axxess Red wire to a 12v accessory wire, the Gray/Red wire to Pin #16 of the vehicle, and the Gray/Blue to Pin # 6 of the vehicle. The Pin # 6 connection I am OK with. However, if I connect the Gray/Red to Pin #16, will that not be the same as the Red wire connected already? Or, is that the way it needs to be connected? I have searched through every Axxess thread I found, for hours now, but still am not SURE what I need to do. What am I missing here? http://www.the370z.com/members/markg...connector1.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/markg...connector2.jpg |
On the CAR side of the harness, the axxess wires go blue/gray to Blue ------------ Red/gray to pink --------------- power and ground

Thanks.

FYI that black wire on the crutchfield harness will NOT work for nissans you have to supply your own ground to any solid metal behind the radio. The same goes for your head units ground as well. I use one of the bolts around the shifter.

A good tip to make sure you have the correct wires. Pluf in your crutchfield harness, look at what wires you think are the correct ones to tap into on the vehicle side (there are no wires on the crutchfield harness for steering wheel controls). trace it back to your crutchfield harness and make sure there is no wire and that the space is blank this will help confirm you have the proper wires. |
This is how mine is wired, for what it's worth. The colors on the far right are the stereo (Kenwood) & ASWC wires. You can ignore the random colors with the ASWC wires. I had to pick a spare harness wire to connect to; just helped me keep it straight.
