Pandora App for Android

Have you set the Pandora Connect mode to "Bluetooth"? Default setting if I remember correctly is "Wired", which is what you have to do with an Iphone. See page 29 of the Pioneer manual. |

Actually, with my nexus connected via Bluetooth, I can click pandora on the head unit and it starts pandora on the phone and takes over control quite quickly.

i need to figure out a way on my phone side to turn off screen while in my pocket. ive had instances where im done calling my wife, hung up, and my phone re-dials by accident.
or while pandora is turned on, the screen is also on. |

The SIII's tend to stay on, which I think is due to the face recognition keeping the screen on because it thinks something is looking at it or at least moving. Most android phones have options to turn off the screen after a certain time if the face recon feature is turned off.

I tried it again yesterday. Pandora definitely won't run by itself. If it was opened in the background, then it can recognize and open the program. I usually don't listen to Pandora, so I guess it doesn't matter. I did put the $19.99 bypass in, works great.
I am still pissed about the lack of app mode, arggg. I should have bought the Appradio as I don't watch DVD or drive much anyway |

can you return your unit and replace it with that appradio2? if you bought it from amazon, they have great return policies. |

I am considering it as the appradio2 seems to do what I want a little bit better, but then the AVH-4500 seems more reliable and less buggy. I wonder if Pioneer will ever come up with a firmware update to make it more Android compatible? Even on the Appradio 2, you need to plug it in each time rather than having everything done via bluetooth.

I got in the Z this morning, started it up, selected Pandora on the HU, and the PHONE AUTOMATICALLY STARTED THE PANDORA APP without me touching it. Only thing I have to do is make sure the volume on the phone is on Max.

pioneer would have a hell of a time trying to accomodate each phone... and we all know about all the crybabies out there. i dont really stare at my 4500BT while driving and i haven't really noticed it was washed out? my 2500BT appears washed out on a bright day due to where it's located on my dd. it's not too bad though. |

For my old 8400bt, the screen was kind of "washed out" until I changed the brightness and contrast settings to give the screen a better black level. Try this in the settings.
