Default rear view camera help

This is my first time doing any car audio video stuff to my car, I just purchased a kenwood ddx419 unit. I would like to know if I would have to purchase a kenwood brand rear view camera to hook up the the unit or would any rear view camera on the market work?

The unit : Kenwood - DDX419

The kenwood camera :
Amazon.com: Kenwood Cmos-300 Multi-Angle Rear View CAMera: Car Electronics

The other option :
High Definition 7 LED Night Vision Waterproof Car Rear View Camera E322 - Tmart.com

Edit** Also wanted to ask if I would need a antenna adapter, I haven't started taking the trim off the car yet to see what size the current antenna wire is.

I have the Kenwood DNX9990HD and the CMOS-310 Camera. Audio shop that did the install told me I could go with a different camera (like Alpine), but I liked the kenwood because it had multi views. As for the GPS antenna, they mounted mine on the dash next to the factory tweeter location. It's relatively small about 1"x0.75"x0.5". Magnetic, sticks to a larger square baseplate. You don't really notice it.

Sorry never saw this thread. Yes you can use any aftermarket camera with pretty much any aftermarket head unit, as long as the camera has a standard Yellow RCA Male jack.

I just installed an ebay "Nissan Livina" rear camera last weekend. Sony CCD Car Camera Nissan Livina Cube GT R Pulsar Versa Fairlady 350Z 370Z | eBay

I went with this one based on numerous mentions here about it. The way it is made to replace the license plate light makes for a clean factory look, and it is almost not even noticeable on the back of the car.

I have no basis to compare it to, other than the factory cam in my Altima, but I am pleased with it so far. Night time in really low light it is a bit dark, but then so is my Altima cam. I snapped a few pics. Also, even though the reverse image warning is on there, the image is correct.

First pic the "haze" is actually a reflection of my sweatshirt and the dark round shadow in the middle is a reflection of the gear shift.

In this pic, no gearshift reflection but the haze again is my sweatshirt. Also, the pics are just a touch darker than the actual image. I guess my cellphone cam adjusted the exposure some.

Final pic-inside the garage with the door down. This is fairly representative as there is no glare in this one.

Can you remove the parking lines and the caution warning from the image? Thanks for posting the pics by the way.

You will need an antenna adapter because Nissan uses some funky cable. The Z has the antenna built into the rear glass and requires an amplifier which requires a 12V input trigger line from the headunit. Grabbed mine from the amp remote on wire. Metra 40-NI12

I ordered that same camera the other day for 18.50 and now it's up to 20.00???
Oh well for now I'm going to make a relay to change the state of the parking brake when I hit reverse and then manually switch to Aux input when I back up. I know it's kind of hokey but I don't have 200.00 for the video adapter that reroutes the reverse camera into the TFT during reverse.

What head unit are you routing this to?
