Which Wires
Guys:
I've tried & searched, but I cannot locate which wires to tap/cut into for connecting an LOC for the Bose sub wires for my aftermarket sub. I've read several posts that keep saying "check the FSM". I've done that, but that doesn't help and the audio multimedia part of the FSM doesn't open anyway. I have the Ecm/bcm wiring diagram with pics (tech sheet), but doesn't help in which wires to tap/cut. If someone can tell me which wires and where (since the plug into the sub has 5 wires), it would be appreciated. Thanks :tiphat: |
Look in the AV section. There are connector pinouts after the wiring diagrams. Between the wiring diagrams and the pinouts, you should be able to figure it out.
Edit: In the 2009 FSM, AV-76 shows the wiring diagram for the sub and AV-78 shows the connector pinout with wire colors. |

"It's not so much a matter of what one knows as it is what one can look up in a hurry." I forget who told me that, but it seemed pretty profound at the time. ;) |

So....tap the 1 & 2 for the input on the LOC and don't worry about the other wires? And this is for the plug at the woofer? Just trying to understand so I don't snip the wrong wires :shakes head: |
Also, if anyone has the .pdf for the AV section. Not sure why that is the only section of my FSM that won't open. I click on it and nothing happens :(

It's the "oval" connector at the sub unit. I'd go ahead and kill the factory sub amp (break the amp on line or the B+ supply), but it probably won't hurt anything to let it idle. You really ought to re-download the FSM or at least the AV section. You can find the whole thing in the Tech section of this site. |
