Default Steering Wheel Controls

Hi, I'm really new to audio head units etc. I will have a 2010 40th Ann. ed. Z soon..*fingers crossed*..as soon as the seller is good on his side.

I was hoping if someone can help me with some questions I have.

1) Does the Axxess ASWC unit control the BT phone function?
- I'm getting a Pioneer Avic-x930bt from a friend. Will the axxess let me control the BT/Calling of my head unit using the call buttons on the steering wheel?

2) I didn't understand the unique'ness (or pain in the a--'ness) qualities of a Bose system. But it seems to me that I need to buy an extra module/cable for my head unit to sync/work with the Bose system(?)... can some one tell me or point me in the right direction for that?

Thanks in advance guys!

1. Only if you go into the trunk and do some rewiring to the bose wiring harness.

2. Please read over this.
What to know about Bose

As long as your new head unit has 4 volt pre outs you can still use it with the bose amp and speakers. You will have to use a metra axxess for steering wheel controls.

Ah, thanks!

I was going to have a shop install everything; is it relatively common knowledge for a shop to know how to "go into the trunk and do some rewiring to the bose wiring harness"?

any shop worth taking it to should be able to hook you up easily.

Not without some rewiring in the hatch- please see this thread:
