Change Splash screen for Kenwood DNX9990HD

Does anyone know how to change it? Tried googling it, but there's not a lot of info out there.

I've found some info, but haven't had time to try it. Nothing on this forum, but there's some info on one of the Corvette forums...http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s....1.dNYk3jTht2w. Good luck!

Thanks CubanZ... I actually found the same info a little bit ago, but still having problems with the image loading on the HU. It's a file that someone had already altered for it to work. The only thing I did was right clicked, and saved to my SD. No issue in getting the settings to show up, but having the file show up is another issue. And I'm not about to spend 80 bucks for Adobe Photoshop. Haiiil No! lol. You'd think it would be much easier than this. *sigh*

Did you check crutchfield web site? Maybe check for info on a similar model....

Check out kenwoodforums.com. You can even find Garmin map updates there.

You're not trying to use the SD card slot, are you? I don't believe that you can load a background in this way...I believe that you can only use this for system updates (ie nav maps).

If this is the case grab yourself a cheap USB flash drive. Make sure it is formatted for FAT32 and copy your image file to the root folder. Plug in your flash drive to the USB port on your 9990HD (not the iPod USB port, use the other one) before you go into Display Settings in the 9990HD. From there follow the instructions on page 83 of the manual. You should be good to go from there, assuming that your image file is a valid .jpg, .png, or .bmp file.

Hope this helps a bit.
