Air bag and 'check engine light' after audio install
I just finished installing a new stereo and GTMat (great product, btw) and now my 'air bag' and 'check engine' lights are on. Does anybody have any suggestions of what I should do to fix it?

First thing I'd look for is a loose connector. Easy to check the seats, just stick you head on the floor and look. Checking if you knocked something loose during the radio install will be more difficult.

there's a reset you need to do after disconnecting the battery. it's somewhere on the forum
|
next time make sure the airbag notification light is plugged in before turning the car on. to reset:

Thanks all. I searched the forum for "air bag" but never thought to search for "airbag". That difference proved important, I guess. I will try this procedure when I get home. I didn't see anything in it about the "check engine" light though. Will this procedure fix that too?

Look in the Sticky Section at the top of this (Audio & Video) form -- "Problems and Fixes After Car Audio Installs". Procedure in the to fix airbag light problem.

There are a few resets and things that you have to do every time you unplug the battery or deal with your HU..
Windows turn off automatic rollup- Check engine light & airbag light! |
