Z370Z011 11-08-2012 03:16 PM

Im interested in a sample! :)
My only questions are if its removable? And how heavy can it get? I assume its lighter than the other non liquid mat you offer?

Yes, the Liqui-Damp X product can be sanded down and painted over. We recommend using it over our GTMat product to seal nooks and crannies that the mat could not reach.

Yes you can use it in your trunk, it does not peel off.

When we tested a small section (approx. 14" x 16") and let it dry inside our office at 73 degrees, it took about 4 hours to completely dry. I would recommend installing in a warmer temperature if possible or using fans to help speed up the drying process. Drying time will also vary based on thickness of each layer.

I was told that the product is not removable but still waiting confirmation on this. 1 Gallon of our standard Liqui-Damp product weighs 14lbs.

Any information on what frequencies in the band (10 hz to 28khz) the gtmat is most effective in muffling down. I want to kill out low end frequencies going in.

So far, here is the only information I have for Liqui-Damp X:

Sound Damping Properties per Geiger Thick Plate Test Method. Liqui-Damp X has a 46.1 decibels per second rating, at 0.5 lbs., (70 oF) dry per square foot

Sound Damping Properties per Oberst Bar Test Method SAE J-1637. Composite Loss Factor of 0.07 at 200 Hz and 77 oF, Liqui-Damp X to metal ratio of 1:1 (Liqui-Damp X at 32 mils and steel bar at 32 mils)

Thank you Tracie. I know you tried put in some work to get this information and appreciate the quick update. I found the same thing by Googling it before posting. The issue is I am not mentally equipped to understand what this means. Brain cells are complaining. Perhaps someone can explain in layman's terms.

I'm kind of learning as I go, sadly. I have tech sheets and MSDS data but that's about it. Neither has a rating on this. I've been attempting to work with more audiophiles who can run their own tests and provide results but so far, none have given these measurements.

Just wanted to tell you all thank you for the participation and enthusiasm for our product! We are truly grateful to the 370z.com this Thanksgiving week. We hope to continue to bring you great products at discount prices. :)
