I just bought this car and I only have one fob. My 370z opens with the button on the door handle but theres a certain way you have to hit

I just bought this car and I only have one fob. My 370z opens with the button on the door handle but theres a certain way you have to hit that button. these cars are supposed to not be able to lock the keys in the car. That was told specifically by nissan that it was like that. Im not sure about infiniti. Im sure its the same system. Its pointless to have that button there otherwise.
