Tnx for all the info guys!
I love my kickers. I've had them since 2004 and they've been going strong. Sadly when my car slid into a ditch (not by driver error), somehow one of them got too much of a horizontal jolt, and I'm guessing something broke inside the body. It makes noise, but you can tell something is loose inside. So I've unwired that one and am just rocking 1 of the 2. It still hits Hard by itself.

The only downside is since 2004, they have changed the look/color of the model, so I can't just get 1 new one. I've got to buy 2 to have them match.

I'm in the same boat, I have 2. One produces sound, the other produces crackled sound, almost like one of the wires of the coil has popped off. Theoretically could be repaired...

I want to try to sell them, but can't in good conscience sell a defective item... And then get 2 new ones.

True, don't wanna create bad karma, call kicker they'll recone it for you

And I'd love a w7, but seems like I always run into great deals on the l7 and can't ever find a good deal on jl.
Lol like I bought my 8 inch l7 with box, used but very good shape for 60 bucks.

I know there are other brands out there that produce good stuff, but I just imo can't see anything better than Kicker. I've been impressed with several of their products, and will stay true.

Same here man, I've always used infinity kappas for mids and highs and kicker subs, Fosgate amps. I've yet to be unsattisfied with that combo

I try to stay true to Kicker, so I use Kicker Comps, Kicker Subs, Kicker Amps, Kicker wiring kits.

I know, consumer whore.

Here you go:

2011 Model Kicker 11S10L74 (11S10L7-4) 10" Dual 2 ohm Solo-Baric L7 Subwoofer

If you wanna save some costs, here is the 2008 Model: Kicker 08S10L72 (08S10L7-2) 10" Dual 2 ohm Solo-Baric L7 Subwoofer

Both are S10L7s 2ohm subs.

sweet, not bad, i found a guy has two brand new ones in dallas, 3 hour drive from me. his selling two brand new ones with box for 320.
guess i could do that n try n find a buyer for the other one eh?
n i was thginking, ill be using my p1000-1 fosgate on this sub, i should probabley go with a dual 4 ohm so i can have it at 2 ohms. that amp puts out 736 rms at 2 ohms, which would be perfect since the L7 10 is 600 rms, 1200 peak.
vs. if i get a dual 2 ohm, ill be at 1 ohms n that amps puts out 1386 rms, so sub be toast before id get started lol.
whats your take on it?

Hey guys:

I'm thinking about upgrading my factory Bose/Nav system sub. I've read a lot of the posts about adding a LOC etc. I'll just be adding the sub and keeping the remaining speakers (for now). I really don't want a sub in the location of the Bose sub since most I've seen look like they may get damaged if something is laid on top of that area.

My question is; are there any sub boxes that mount by the strut bar that don't interfere with the Touring model cargo cover? I like the look and reviews on the Zenclosures, but they don't let you use the cargo cover. I appologize if this has been asked and answered (looked and couldn't locate).

I'm thinking exactly the same thing and so far I've found the Pioneer down fire shallow unit TS SWX251 and the JL Audio CP 108LG W3v3 are two that are low enough to fit under the bar and the cover and between the side panels. These are smaller though so not sure what to expect. I don't want something to blow my head off, just something that is cleaner and hits a bit harder than that crap Bose "sub".
