Problem with NAVI and HVAC unit
Ok, so today something very strange happened. I was very low on gas down to about 1 gallon (i never let it get this low, but was going to jersey where gas was cheaper and had 4 dots, but of course they disappeared within 20 miles) and got to the gas station, turned the car off to fill her up. When I started the car the navi screen was stuck on the opening nissan graphic just looping over and over again, no sound, no navi nothing, and the hvac was stuck on ac blowing full blast coldest air possible. Im taking it to the dealer tomorrow just wondering what on green earth could have caused this? Anyone ever have this happn?

I dont know about the nav, but I had something similar happen to me a few years ago when I drove a Mitsubishi Eclipse. The HVAC unit would be working perfect but then suddenly the lights would go off and it would you wouldnt be able to change the settings. What it ended up being was a cable in the back was only partially connected.

Car is at koeppel Nissan and they are saying it looks like it will need a new navi system that's gotta be close to 8k in repairs I'd think. Anyway glad I'm under warranty

Brought it to koeppel nissan yesterday and they are replacing the entire navi unit under warranty. They couldnt really even tell me what happened seems to be some freakish computer break. The thing that sucks is it could take 3 weeks to get the parts so im without a radio in the car and stuck ac on full blast until its fixed :/ also im going to lose all my tunes on the hard drive which was hours of time burning them in :/

update: koeppel said my navi parts should be in monday, can't wait. I had to take the car to a local nissan dealer to have the battery replaced last week, talk about lightning striking twice... and the guy there that worked on the car was able to set the hvac so that the ac adjusts to a comfortable temperature at all times. I still can't adjust anything via the nav but this makes driving the car MUCH more bearable.

Update: WEIRD thing happened. So I'm still waiting for the navi unit, which is backordered. During the last week driving the radio randomly came on about 2 or 3 times for a few seconds only and then shut back off. Today while driving to work after about the first 10 miles of the 40 mile commute boom everything started working. Navi fired up and even resumed the route it was on when it fritzed. Radio ac controls everything works. Started the car up 3 times and everything is still working. Of course I'm still going to have the navi replaced because who knows when it will freak again I'm sure the computer logic board or hard drive is dying but this has been so strange.

Right now my car is working 100% perfectly, so I think I'll hold off on the navi install until it's more convenient for me or unless it starts freaking out again. I honestly think getting the battery replaced fixed the problem at this point
