Stock Nav with another unit

Forgive me but I know nothing about car AV. Is it possible to keep the stock navigation unit with its controls and still be able to replace the bottom unit

Default Stock Nav with another unit

Forgive me but I know nothing about car AV. Is it possible to keep the stock navigation unit with its controls and still be able to replace the bottom unit (radio with CF slot) with another all-in-one touch screen?

I already ordered my car so it's too late to change my mind about the navigation system.

If you could please take a pick of your dash it might be possible. But you will not be able to hear anything from the nav threw your speakers.

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking something like what AK has with the stock navigation unit as well. That way I can keep the look and function of the stock navigation system with its controls but also have a 2nd LCD other uses. From what you said I think I would lose the functions on from the steering wheel controls and no sound from the navigation?

looks like it could be a tough job as the first picture has controls below the nav screen integrated into the dash. The second picture you posted is of the non-touring model, which uses the double DIN slot. That makes it a lot easier to put an aftermarket nav in.
