Default Aftermarket subwoofer install

For those who installed the sub woofer in the trunk, are you able to keep the spare tire or do you have to get it removed for good? I'm thinking about a new stereo system since the premium Bose sound system isn't very good on the Z.

Check out Zenclosures. You can keep your spare and still have room in the back for groceries.

sweet, thanks. I know I won't be able to install this alone so I'm going to have to get it installed at a shop. Do you have any recommendations on any shops? Also, what's the ball park price range that this project will cost? Do you know if Best Buy will do this kind of stuff?

you may want to look at the boxes Wicked CAS makes. There are several threads about their enclosures here on the forums. They make a spare tire kind of box, that lets you keep the spare and also just released a corner box that fits in pretty seamlessly in the hatch area.

Don't go to Best Buy. It'll be more expensive and you'll probably end up with an inferior install. Find a local profession who's been doing it for a while. Ask to see photos of their work if possible. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone unless you live in a really small town.
