Dear my friend,

Any questions Please contact me.
Best regards
Melody
This just isn't right. It gives me a white screen 90% of the time I want to use it. I know this camera is bad. This will be the first time I leave negative feedback on ebay. Very disappointed. I'm glad the seller tried to work with me, but ultimately I didn't get a product that worked. The attached photo was taken during the daytime when the So. Cal. rain storms was passing overhead. The daylight was very muted. In normal sunlight, it's totally white.
I had the same exact problem in my Z also. I got the same camera as most people bought it on Ebay from the link in first thread.. I guess you get what you pay for.... Its barely even sunny here in East Coast, just overcast, clear sky and the screen is white out during the day. Seem to be better at night tho. I dont think the cold weather has anything to do with this..

Anyone know a good replacement back up camera that is plug-and-play? I just want to do a straight up swap instead of removing all the old wires.

TreeSemdyZee sent me some 20% window tint. Since I don't have access to my Z for a few of weeks, I've been experimenting at home with the original camera that viewed everything upside down. I've found that if I put 3 layers of 20% tint over the lens, I get a decent picture in bright sunlight. In interior light, the image is pretty grainy. With 2 layers the image is still too bright, although you can make out objects. at 4 layers, you can see well in the bright light, but any non-bright area are too dark.

I would appreciate it if you contact the ebay seller, so at least they know I'm not the only one who thinks his product is defective. If enough folks complain, he may actually figure out he has a manufacturing problem.

thanks for the tip. I'll grab some cheap DIY window tint film at Autozone and see if it will help with the over exposure problem. Will post back here with updates later.

Here's another suggestion...after I got the tint from Tree, I checked with the clear bra installer I used and asked him about 5% tint. He suggested I try 20% clear bra material since it's not quite as sticky and streatches better. He gave me a fair chunk of it for free.

I didn't get any 5% stuff and I think the window tint cuts the glare better. I have a couple of pieces ready to go once I get back to my Z. The bottom layer is clear bra, next layer is window tint, and then another layer of clear bra.

Good luck.

Yeah sorry, I was asking you. Because my base model speakers are HORRIBLE. After you install this nav unit, is the sound better? Did you do any mods to the sound system or just plain stock?

I've read through this a few times, I am having a similar install sometime in the next week or so depending on when the pieces get in. I ordered the following online already:

Kenwood DNX6140
Antenna Adapter
Wiring Harness
Pioneer Backup Camera

Am I missing anything? I do not need the sirius radio or the ipod adapter. I would like the piece needed to make my steering wheel controls work, can someone give me a link to the exact piece I need? Thank you for any help.

If there is a different control that works better I would love to hear about it. I really love the Z cars (this is my second one), and I would like everything to be perfect or as good as it can be.

I found the cam on Amazon for $292.00. I have a pretty large budget to work with so rather than go for the 30$ cam that a few people have been seeing issues with (issues which would basically make the cam useless for me), I went with an expensive name brand cam that I'm sure Pioneer will stand behind.

I am also planning on putting in a couple of Rockford Fosgate 10" Subs, probably the P3s and a JL Audio 750 amp, the speakers are pretty thin and the amp is small so hopefully it won't be an issue.
