Alpine w900 Nav Install - Dash trim question
Hello, i'm installing an Alpine w900 double din Navi/DVD receiver and when I take off the alpine trim ring to make it fit the flush mount looks kind of crappy. Right now, I'm using the stock base double din radio surround. Here is an example picture of what it looks like now with the OEM trim piece and as you can see some of the spacing and gaps (on the left side) around the unit.

I noticed that the head unit does need some clearance for the face to open in close when I did one in Cali.
However I would recommend drilling new mounting holes on the bracket to allow the head unit to sit further back in the dash so the face is not to far out. I did use the dash kit when I installed the w910 http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/IMG_6520.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/IMG_6519.jpg http://i483.photobucket.com/albums/r...r/IMG_6488.jpg |
Your install looks much cleaner with the alpine trim surround installed. Thanks for posting pics.
