Default Watching a Movie in my Z

So yesterday I got my dock connector and now I can stream to my screen, while stopped of course.....

Has anyone jumpped out the parking brake sensor to allow streaming while movig? For my passanger of course...

It appears that if the break light is on, the screen works. So if I make that light come on then THEY can see a video. Make sense?

So if I make that light come on, are there any other systems that are affected by that break light?

Thanks...

First of all, it's spelled "brake".

Second, the a/v system also monitors the vehicle speed. Even with the "brake" sensor grounded, the video will stop when the car starts moving.

I installed NavTool with my stock navigation, it is a great tool, not very expensive and an easy install. G/L

I have my navtools in my 09 stock navi and can't play video. There's a switch when installing it. Do I need to switch it on or something in order for it to work? I also connect my Reverse camera Into the Navi. Any suggestion to make it play while driving?

Yes it comes with a stock switch from Navtool to switch channels from the stock Nav to a different video source to which you must integrate a dvd player or gaming system capable of video playback. Currently I put a switch in between my stock heaters.

The dvd on an aftermarket unit is looking for a signal from the parking brake. On my pioneer this signal is a ground, However, you cannot just ground the wire. The The unit wants to see the ground after the unit turns on. I installed a small 12v relay which is powered by the 12v amp turn on signal. I then connected a vehicle ground (you can use the same ground that powers the radio) to one side of the relay contact and the parking brake wire to other side of the relay contact. This relay provides the parking brake wire with the ground it needs, only after the stereo powers on.

If you have a pioneer you need to do a video bypass. Depending on your model you will either need to move the mute wire pin up to the blank one above it. OR need a special small bypass module that you can buy on amazon. Post what model you have and I can guide you to what you need.

Should just need a bypass... I have a 2011 unit and it works fine.
