True or Not True????

So I went today to the audio shop to set up my appointment for my install next week of my HU, front speakers, amp, 10" sub and box. I ordered everything myself from various places and am just using this guy for the install as I have no idea what I am doing.

He said I have everything but the sub wiring kit. I asked how much that was and he said $100. Is this true or can I get it cheaper?? Like I said I am not familiar with audio installs so I am not even sure what comes in the kit but while i was there he did point to a kit.

Also said I need to get a piece also so my P3300BT works with my steering wheel buttons. Guess I can get that from Crutchfield??

Wirings should be part of your installation price. At least that's how it's been for me in the past at the shops I have been through.

Yeah I think it is when he quoted me the price for everything but I thought he said the kit was $100

i know those 2 or 4 gage wires cost a lot and the 50 amp fuse, i had a set up once for a lot of power and the wires etc did cost like 90$

not sure i your gear requires that big of a wire / fuse..

It could very well be true depending on the gauge of wire, also make sure he is not using a cheap bran of cable. Make sure its like rockford fosgate, kicker, stinger, knu, and not something like pyle or other crappy brand.

You might want to buy some of your parts from the installer... Specialy the wiring... make sure it is good brand and make sure it has good quality parts in there...

Reasons:
Well you will be giving him some parts business.
If anything goes wrong with that wire he should warranty it for you and labor would be observed by him.
If you bring him the wire and something goes wrong or it is defective, lets say an rca cable goes bad. He has the upper hand to charge you the labor for replacing that wire.

Same with the steering wheel module. Buy it from him and have him install it... He will also feel a little better about doing the install since you are atleast buying some parts from him.

KnuKonceptz Amp Kit Review

+1 on the knu konceptz, bought a two amp 1/0 awg kit from them and it was amazing. Great price and quality cabling.

The steering wheel module is extra and can be found online... I use the axxess kit. It is better than the PAC IMO.

You risk issues by buying parts online and bringing them to an installer though. I have seen and known installers that shrug their shoulders at a consumer when an install doesn't work because they blame the parts that came from outside the shop.
