So I am shopping for a front component set of speakers for my 09. I go on crutch field and it says 5.25 and then I read on here everyone is doing 6.5. I have searched a lot and read even more. What gives. Can someone explain this to me?

6.5 is what you need for the doors.

Crutchfield has great customer service, but their configurator sucks winds. The fronts are 6 1/2". If you have a Bose system, I believe they are 6x9.

+1...... 6.5 is what you want. This is for a non Bose system. Not sure about the Bose set-up.

Definately 6.5" ones... AND... you probably will need some speaker spacers from Zenclosures so that the speaker magnet wont hit the metal in the window control frame. Nobody ever mentions this, lol.

Some speakers will fit without, but if you get a nice pair of 6.5's, you will need them.

big mentioned the polk db components with 6.5" drop in without spacers if you want to try that.

I just installed some 6.5s with the speaker brackets from zenclosures. My only complaint about the speaker brackets are that zenclosures sent me the wrong mounting hardware! I had my car completely gutted in the middle of an audio install when I discovered that they sent me the wrong bolts. I ended up walking to a nearby hardware store and buying the appropriate bolt for mounting. A minor issue but a very big frustration

Z doors are very accomodating.
You can get just about any 6.5" in there..

JL AUDIO makes a great set with C2 or C3 components... PM for pricing
HERTZ AUDIO also has a great set of spekares depending on your budget...

What amplifier are you using?
