how much can cigarette lighter outlet handle?
 

hey guys,
im trying to power a defi control unit from my cig lighter outlet (it will power 3 gauges) and i already have a dash camera tapped into my cig lighter outlet.

Should i find another power source?
is the cig lighter outlet going to be able to power both devices??

I think the owners manual says 125 watts

Sounds about right. 125 W is about 10 Amps. Cameras and monitors will draw about 0.5 Amps, so unless the Defi is a power hog, you should be fine.

found that defi control unit is at .8amps if all 7 gauges are hooked up! so i think ill let cig lighter outlet power both control unit and dash cam
