Default Put my Pioneer x940BT in today...

Put it in, but I ran into a problem with this bracket pictured. My install used the metra dash kit so I didn't re use the factory kit but in doing so the headunit with the kit on it was too big to fit past this metal bracket. I ended up leaving the bracket out, is that what most of you are doing or is there something I could have done to keep it in there?

I am mostly concerned because of the white box that was bolted to it which is now just sitting below the radio instead of being mounted with that bracket.

I didn't use the stock dash kit, used the Metra kit so using that to mount the headunit wasn't an option.

I simply removed the plastic locator pins from the dash (that go through the bracket) and was able to spread the top of the bracket just enough to slide the head unit in easily.

Yes, the white box will just lay there. However if you feel you want it to be more secure. Either use double sided tape or stuff foam around it so it will not move.

My white box is resting below my Pioneer Head Unit also……absolutely no problem! What’s your opinion on your Pioneer X940BT? I have noticed “selective negative opinions” with Pioneer Products in this forum from a non 370Z owner who claims to be an installer…… I now thinking most of his negative responses…………installation error!

I have a love for pioneer units, I tried Kenwood and Sony units and neither compare IMO. This x940bt is amazing, still have my love for pioneer! Plus it makes the interior look a lot more "finished"

I agree…….when it came down to the dynamic balance between features, cost and quality in software, Pioneer is first choice. Some 370Z owners have Alpine but I have had too many issues with the software in the head units. My girlfriend has an Alpine in her 4runner and it sucks!
