I am installing two small Alpine apms in the Z...mono & 4 channel. What is the safest and easiest way to run the remote wire?

You can run the remote to the terminal on the mono amp, then run another remote wire from the mono amp terminal to the 4-channel amp remote wire terminal.
So from head unit to mono ----> mono to 4-channel. Remote is just a signal, this is a safe way to go, good luck!
