Help AirBag Light Won't Turn Off!
So I've tried the method stated in the sticky which is follows.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMING ON AFTER CAR AUDIO INSTALL ****IIMPORTANT**** Turn the ignition off as soon as the airbag light goes out the first time. If you have the airbag light blinking here is how to reset it: 1. Push the start button two times (Ignition on but engine not started). 2. Watch the airbag light closely. It will stay on for a few secs. and then as soon as it blinks off (the start of the flashing), turn the key off INSTANTLY. 3. Count to 5 (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi . . . .) 4. Repeat steps 1-3 two more times until you have done the cycle three times. 5. Now turn the key on and watch the light. It will start blinking in a different, slower manner. This is diagnostic mode. You can watch this for a little while, no hurry. 6. Now turn the key off again, Count to 5 like in step 3 again, and turn back on. If the procedure worked, the airbag light will not be flashing. If it does not work the first time, just repeat the steps again. I've tired this multiple times and it is not working for me. I checked to make sure all my wires are pluged in under the seat and they are. I have a 2009 370z Nismo. Is there a different method to reset the airbag light for a nismo? If anyone has a video of them resetting it or any other suggestions on how to turn it off I would really appreciate it. |
Did you make sure the airbag light on the dash is plugged in?

Take a deep breath, and try again. It took me a few tries to get it right...

no, you do not start the car, just button to the on position.
If you got it to diagnostic mode your very close. |

You may have a legitimate fault that's causing the light to stay on. When did it come on? Have you recently installed/uninstalled anything car audio related?

In diagnostics mode there are two short blinks... pause... two long blinks.... pause.... repeat

Any other suggestions?

I'm going through the same thing after installing racing seats (driver and passenger sides). I connected 4.7ohm resistors for both seats and used the stock weight sensor for the passenger seat too. I did the reset procedure and the airbag light on the dash does blink at a slower pace but would not disappear.. Help anyone? |

About to install my head unit this weekend. Sub'ing just in case.

I know this is an old thread. But if you cleared the light and ur airbag light came back on, its becuz the airbags are disabled. When i got my headunit installed the installer knicked my airbag wire, so even my traction control light would not go off. After the shop ran no codes i took it to nissan, who obviously popped with 3 electrical codes... Would of cost me over $800 to fix, however they deemed it the shops fault so of course the shop fixed it... However noone has the best code reader than nissan
Just my 2 cents |
Thanks for your post. My airbag light has been flashing for like two weeks.
I did what you said and it took 4 tries tries but i finally got that pesky light to stop flashing. you are he MAN! I cant thank you enough! |

Perfect Tutorial!
I went to pushing my car hard during the weekend and Monday I noticed my airbag flash was on. I followed the steps and successfully turned off the airbag light. Perfect Tutorial, but still don't know why the airbag light went on.
