L33T's System Ordered
Fellow Z owners
I just ordered up the following from woofersetc today: Hed Unit Pioneer DEH-80PRS Speakers Amp ZED Audio DRACONIA-II (tired of all the chinese junk amps) Dash & Door Speakers FOCAL 165 KRX2 (yes, I know they're not warrantied thru woofersetc, IDGF) Hatch Speakers FOCAL 21 V2 8" woofer x2 (see commment above) I listen to synth pop, trance, industrial, goth/black metal. Comments and critiques are welcome. |
Hopefully you actually get your order. That place is horrible to deal with.

Warranty is only one of your worries when dealing with woofersetc. Hopefully they don't try to remove the hidden serial number under the spider of all the woofers

Agreed. I have ordered from them many, many times. No issues. I even had a return or two to them with no pains whatsoever.
I will say that some of their prices can be beat elsewhere, but I'm a pretty loyal buyer.... |

That being said my brother has ordered quite a bit from them, their service seems good other than the above noted issue ;) |

What’s your opinion on your Pioneer DEX P99? I’m thinking of upgrading my three year old Avic-X Series to the new Avic- Z Series. I have noticed “selective negative opinions” with Pioneer Products in this forum from a non 370Z owner who claims to be an installer…… |
I would have to say its the best piece I've ever owned, both from a Sound Quality standpoint, and a versatility standpoint.
Besides the fact that its got a full blown processor built in, I particularly enjoy its old-school appearance. I can honestly say that I am in no way a pioneer fanatic, in fact, I used to steer clear of them for many years. That changed when the premier line came about. My last piece was the Clarion DXZ945mp (which was no slouch by any means, either) The car I had that in went to SLAP Nationals in 2005, and got me a second place finish. That now belongs to my daughter. The pioneer DEX P99rs makes the clarion look like a toy. I would have paid double for it, and still been happy. Its that good. Honestly, if you search any name brand for problems, you will find many many pages on the web related to that specific brand, and that specific problem. I dont think there is one single brand that can say they are without issue of some form or another, but I dont see the need to start hysteria over any of them because of ones personal tastes. |

Thanks Ron……..I was thinking this particular non-370Z owner, who consistently bashes Pioneer Products, has an alternative motive! He always posts a reference to another “Pioneer Bashing Forum”, which by coincidence he started! I, like many other 370Z owners, never had any issues with Pioneer. Maybe he has a mental connection with Alpine!! Lol |

Pico fuse problem on the Pioneer DEX P99………….are you really serious? How many DEX P99 have you installed?? |
You know there in most higher end pioneers right?
You do know that certification does not really do much. It is like a marriage certificate nothing changes. You do not need one to be a good installer. To bot, even if I did/had the Certification. You would still give me crap. So in the end there is no making a troll happy. And yes I warn people of the potential problems they could encounter for owning one. This is not the place to start an argument. Start a thread and we can go from there. |

Not trying to start any arguments………just trying to clarify and justify your statements concerning your claims about (potential) problems with Pioneer. You must be able to clarify and justify your responses. You proved and showed nothing. You just make statements because you can! Know the facts before you post!! For example…..”Pico Fuse” problems……..what model(s)?? You stated “You do know that certification does not really do much” …….. are you considering becoming a standup comedian? |
Now, boys. Play nice.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions. |

An update on my order from woofersetc....
The Pioneer hed unit is on back order. It's taking the slow boat from China and may possibly arrive sometime in JUNE! Also, the ZED AUDIO amp is build to order?? Was told it may be completed in JUNE as well! |

It is not just him that has that opinion. I have heard from other people and reputable audio businesses that have an incentive to push Pioneer but don't because of the technical issues associated with that brand. I used to be an Alpine fanboy, but I just had a Kenwood DNX9990HD installed in my car. I can honestly say that I am impressed with the updates to this unit as oppossed to the DNX9960 I have installed in another vehicle. Only thing I can advise you is to go to the different websites, download each owner's manual, and read what each radio has to offer. If you are as anal as me, you will do that. (That is what I did and I feel that it paid off) My brother has an Pioneer AVIC 110 and he was really impressed with the features of the 9990HD. Just my :twocents: |
Focals from Woofersetc
24 Attachment(s)
Received my gear yesterday (5 JUL 12) via FedX. The Zed Audio Draconia-III, Rated power 150 watts x 4 into 4 ohm, finally got assembled last week.
I also had to upgrade to the DEX-P99RS head unit, since the 80PRS is still back ordered. Check out the pictures of my Focals from WoofersETC. What do you guys think? :D I plan to have it all installed by the end of AUG. |
Going to be a nice setup
|
are those serials scratched off or did you shop them out on the krx woofers?
|
Looks good. Gonna be awesome. Your gonna love the P99.
