Head unit in the upper cubby?

Pretty easy, the upper piece is from the OEM Navigation unit (can be bought from any Nissan dealership), and then to fill in the open area or customize a lower head unit piece.

I don't think there is quite enough space to mount a regular head unit up there. It would hit the brace that goes behind the dash causing the center console not to fit back in.

Yep, there is not enough room in the upper cubby for a full head unit. Here is mine:

That looks like the right piece, will check tomorrow if I still have the exact product number.
The bottom piece, are you referring to below the upper screen? The audio shop I believe just cut and mounted a piece of hard plastic and painted to match.

I was originally going to order all the parts from Nissan, cubby area, mounts, screen, etc. then I found out the screen was $900.

Thank you. No, it's a.. ready?... High definition, high brightness led backlit, capacitive multitouch double din version of a 669GL. Lol you can breath now. It is probably overkill but I won't settle for less.

No issues viewing during bright daylight. The fact that the screen is recessed helps a lot.
