Are rear speakers a waste

Just got my car 2 weeks ago and have started to get it the way i want...i have dumped OEM head unit for DDX719 (Kenwood),Alpine 500x1 thats connected to JLaudio 8" sub... and Alpine 300x4 connected to stock fronts...I am somewhat disappointed in sound coming from doors and I am wondering if I should add rear speakers into the empty wells behind seats. I have gotten a lot of opinions and store told me the rears would be a waste.....anybody added the rear speakers and have an opinion?

I too was told yesterday that dumping more than $100 into the rear speakers would be a waste.

I think they are a waste in the size car such as a Z and the stock speakers only being a 3.3

Don't listen to this guy... (not meant to be mean) Look at this thread... http://www.the370z.com/audio-video/5...nclosures.html.

I love having the surround sound effect in my vehicles. If that is not a main concern for you, then don't waste your money. IMO

Hey, Big... Can I start getting a commission? Or what if I send enough people your way I can work off a pair for myself. LOL

It's all about the green!:happydance:

I don't think they are a waste at all. Before I added them, I felt like there was dead air behind me.
Now that I added them, the cabin is filled with sound without having to crank the volume way up.

It just depends on your listening style and for that matter, music styles enjoyed. I don't think the rears do much for rap and pop music, but for jazz, blues, etc. it adds quite a lot of depth.
