He would not be able to run the rears off a new head unit unless he is running it through the stock bose amp and speakers. There 2 ohms I think and would blow a head units amp.

Also even with you and I agreeing on no rears some people just find that they miss it and want rears.

To me makes completely sense to not touch the rear speakers and that's what I'm going to do. Now leaves me with more money to spend on front speakers and tweets. So I'd spend up to $400 on the door speakers and tweets.
