Download the 370Z service manual on the site the AV section is about 300 pages goes over all bose and non-bose systems

I'd like to know this as well. Planning an install on Monday hopefully.

Service manual does have a wiring diagram, but I did not see exactly where the wires for tweeters split from door speakers and where the crossover for each is.

Good question on this, also to the installation experts-are you using the stock wiring harness for the door speakers or running new wires?

I am planing on using the factory wiring it is able to take up to 65watts so it is perfectly fine for using fpr aftermaket speakers.

It dosent show a crossover, it just tees into the door speakers, is this correct?

Not for the bose system there is a crossovr somewhere in the door.

Well, I don't know if this will help anyone or not, but I spent most of the day upgrading my base audio.

As near as I can tell, the crossovers for the BASE stereo are on the speakers themselves. The wires ran to each speaker and terminated in a speaker wiring harness. On the speakers themselves (after the connection to harness) is a simple resistor which I assume functions as a passive high pass crossover.

So if I am correct, once you disconnect the stock speakers, you have also removed the stock crossovers. You're left with two sets of wires in parallel without any crossovers (until you add your own).

Interesting it is probably a tad different in the bose model.

I was doing a headunit/speaker install last weekend as well and noticed the resistor on speaker for base model. Definitely need spacers for component 6 1/2's in the doors though, as they dont give much depth. My JL's have a 2 1/2 inch mounting depth and looks like they need at least an 1/4 to 3/8 inch spacer.

Anyone have a pict of the base tweeter from the back side? typically for low-end budget speakers the tweeter has a capactior soldered at the terminals. is it the same?

im going to swap out my speakers soon. i suppose i can yank
mine out and see, but was just wondering.

From what I have seen in the manual, the crossover for the bose is built into the bose amp. For none bose systems it is built onto the tweeter and the speaker wire is just split one going to the speaker one going to the tweeter.
