Nissan 370Z new navigation system
This is the only interior picture available at the time. I really can't see what kind of stereo we are going to receive but I can def see "Bose" in our future. But you can clearly see the new navigation system. It kinda reminds me of the G37 navigation system which I loved it on the new Gs. Here are some comparison shots

I'm going to miss that pocket where the 350Z's OEM navigation would go.
The 370's interior is gorgeous, though. Everything looks designed with ergonomics in mind, but yet it manages to look upscale. |

Now I'm torn. I like the idea of having that pocket, but I'm not sure anything aftermarket will look as refined.

Maybe I'll wait a few months before buying one & get people's input. I have a Kenwood DNX5120 in the 350 & really like it. I suppose with a Metra dash kit it would look fairly OEM.
|
The interior is sooo much better than the 350z's...
I still believe there is room for improvement! |

Is there any indication that there will be a reverse camera option with the navi like in the G37s....I may be asking for way to much but can't a guy dream? haha

It would be great if they suprise us or something cause I think that's a huge + I'm hoping the navi trim is around 2200! |
it wouldn't be as integrated as an OEM system, but if there is an external input for the NAV screen, a back-up camera would not be difficult to add in principle.

I've never owned a Z, so if you get base, what would you put in that pocket anyway? A gun, some weed, condoms... what?

I assume Metra or another aftermarket company will make a dash kit to fix the "issue."

The one in the second picture is the premium radio only available in the Touring its the Bose 6-Disc Radio with all the goodies even SD-Card slot I believe it also has the plug for the ipod in the armrest too. The Nav is a option only available for touring. You can get touring and not opt for Nav. Hope that clears things up a lil |

I will be getting the base with sport package so it wont be an issue for me. Thanks for shinning the light in the cave...:bowrofl: |
the radio with the sd slot is the one with the 4 smaller knobs used with the navigation package.
|
Okay I'm a little confused.
You only get the screen if you get the navi package? I thought you can get the screen if you get the touring but it just doesn't have navigation like the G37's. |

Oh wow, that sucks.
I was hoping to get the screen but w/o the navi :( |
Well, Logik, get a base Z and add a screen and speakers. Its cheaper than getting the touring + gps.
I'm struggling to decide whether to get the navi in my touring or not...I think i may... although if they eventually come out with a dash mod to fit an aftermarket navi in there and the bose system is already in place...then i will wait for that... good thinking me... |

Using the HU to control the exhaust valves on his Z06! |
How do we install aftermarket navi for touring audio? There is no box shape to replace it with aftermarket navi..

i think if you plan on replacing the HU the base is your best option. with the touring they integrate more stuff like bluetooth and a/c controls into the headunit so its almost impossible to replace.
i actually think its pretty cool of nissan to have multiple consoles and one that is perfectly configured to accept a replacement. most consoles these days its a huge pain to replace anything. |

Not in the place of the stock radio, but you should be able to put it in the cubby hole, I think the door would be in the way though.
|
Question, if you get a base model, can you later down the road install the OEM nav system yourself?? It seems like you can't cause the base model has the radio on the bottom as opposed to the touring. If you would try to install it in the "pocket", you would be left with two radios. Unless if you change the whole center console, which could get pricey.
|
seems like if you want aftermarket...we shoudl get a base...
hmmmm i like pioneer units but i like how everythign is integrated in the nav/touring combo. |
I just went to a Nissan Dealership and they had a Touring Trim car there with NO COMPUTER or navi!!!! WTF?!?!?!
They said you can get the Touring Trim without all that stuff!!! |

Nope... No in-dash display at all. When I got in the car, I was very confused since it had leather seats but no display (just the standard base door). I'll be going back, and I'll take pics if I remember and they still have that car sitting there.
