Anyone going to Spring break Nationals?

I have not been there in over 20 years. I did have fun there back in the 90's. I hated competing in Pro class, but that what you go for working for a HiFi shop back then.

I'll be there but I wont be in the comp but maybe next year few more mods to go!

^^ Me too. I got out of it around 2001-2. Nobody cares about sound quality anymore... it's all boom boom boom and multimedia...

I hear that. It seems like SQ is reserved for the old dudes like myself. I also think that $$ played a major role in that as well. Alot of young guys (and Girls) have better things to do with a couple grand then dump them into a competitive SQ setup. I think the Boom is much more attainable for the Buck.

I've never been able to do a truly competitive SQ system for a couple of grand, but I know what you mean. Doing a serious SPL vehicle can be done on the cheap. The last one I did for a customer was in 2001 and had 6- 12"s hitting 168-9 db. The customer had ~$3000 invested in the whole thing. I've been out of it for so long that I'm not even sure what the big numbers are now...

I've been to the IASCA finals a few times but never the Spring Break Nationals, always wanted to but it's a pain trailering a car from Canada to Florida...

Where and when did you work for a stereo shop in Fliorida, cdoxp800 ?
