AXXESS ASWC on Bose Question
Below are the pictures of my harness from the factory. I cannot seem to figure out which wires are to be tapped especailly since my colors are different than others have mentioned (or at least in different locations). Can anyone assist me with which wires go where? I looked at the one diagram from another board member but my colors differ.

I know there are a few threads some sticky and some not that have more info on the bose system and steering wheel controls, they may help you. |

metra's website is the best resource for dealing with the aswc |
Metra's site is garbage and completely wrong (at least for touring). Even with Big's diagram (which is different than my harness it seems) I can't get any of the wires to recognize. So frustrating.

We dont HAVE to tap the ground on the harness right? We can use a real grounding point I would assume. I'm using the one off the shifter... I get 7 flashes after it attempts to autoprogram which means it doesn't see any of the wires. I've tried about 4 combinations and multiple resets. At this point I am thinking it would just be easier to run the wires up to the steering wheel directly!

well what do you currently have connected to what at this point.

I've tried every combination of the blue or inner white (from first pic) and the grey and black from the second. It is hard to tell but those are on the same half of the harness (top and bottom). The other side is all used for things like the speakers. Also one of hte wires I tapped turned out to be the power lead (realized it after when I checked it against the aftermarket harness). I get flashing from the unit but 7 fast flashes... never once did it stop on any of the LEDs to indicate I had one hooked up properly. I did my best with the service manual and forum help to narrow it down to those 4 (or three now that I realize one is actually the power lead). Not sure where to go from here. I am considering paying a professional to work on it but who knows if they will be of any help.

your best bet is to ignore the wire colors and count the pins in the harness you will need to use pins 6,15 and 16 with the aswc.
Pin 6 to Gray/Blue on the ASWC Pin 15 to Ground Pin 16 to Gray/Red on the ASWC ive seen countless numbers of cars whose wire colors i know off the top of my head be different from other cars of that same year model. Its not uncommon for manufacurers to vary wire colors amongst same make, model and year of vehicles but the pin number largely always remain the same |
Well you live you learn... found out after reading the Service Manual for 2010s (didn't see it mentioned in the 2009 SM) that the steering communicator goes through the bluetooth module before going to the headunit (even the source/volume/preset buttons). Well as luck would have it I had removed the bluetooth module and XM unit when I installed the pioneer ones. Hooked it back up and everything worked. I'll try jumping the BT harness so I can remove it and use the call buttons with my new deck but atleast the volume and other controls function properly now.
BTW on 2010 tourings I used a white and grey wire. Add that to the list of functioning leads. |

No I have the AVH-P3300BT. No issues at all until the axxess adapter... did you use the correct RCA line out adapter?
It will be this one (thanks Big) Receiver Wire Harness For select 2007-up Nissan and Subaru vehicles at Crutchfield.com If you use the regular base harness it won't mesh with the bose which might explain your noise. Mine sounds great. |

Not true... I looked and it said that you can use the phone buttons by jumping the bluetooth cables... no where did it say you needed to jump them to use any of the other buttons.
Check it out, I just re-read it to make sure. |
Bignate, there website has a lot of things wrong.
OP, I know I was able to get all but the Calling buttons to work without disconnecting or bypassing anything. I know someone else on here has bypassed the box you speak of to get them to work, I think you also have to add another wire to the axxess. I thought I had it bookmarked apparently I do not sadly. Let me see if I can hunt that thread down. |
