OP, I know I was able to get all but the Calling buttons to work without disconnecting or bypassing anything. I know someone else on here has bypassed the box you speak of to get them to work, I think you also have to add another wire to the axxess. I thought I had it bookmarked apparently I do not sadly. Let me see if I can hunt that thread down.

Big that would be awesome if you found that but not the end of the world I guess.
Tomboy it is just a matter of unplugging the XM antenna from the stock unit and plugging it into the Pioneer XM brain... very simple once you find the XM unit (which is right with the bluetooth module). You still need to use the IP bus cable and the power cable supplied by pioneer. Only the antenna is transferable. |

This what I have found on mine. Can anyone that has done the bose swap verify this to be what they found too? I think that wire colors may be the same from a bose car to another bose car, but perhaps not match that of a nav or base set-up. That is why most instructions do not say what wire color to use, but pin numbers only. Perhaps the color callouts started from forum members not knowing, (but trying to be helpful) that the wire colors are not the same from sytem to system.

Looks like you have the right pins/wires to me... unfotunately I don't remember the colors I used but I know that the service manual and axxess were both right... the only problem is axxess has a diagram that counts the pins looking at the exposed pin side where the service manual uses the wire side (hope that makes sense). Ignore the colors and you'll be fine. Follow either instruction as long as you are looking at it from the correct angle.

Matt, On another subject, where is the bose bluetooth module located? I plan on doing the pin jumps to get the phone controls to work too. |

Ya the colors I gave him were for the base model and not the bose system. I forget what they are.

Good luck with that... the module is in the trunk behind the passenger seat... you need to remove all the trunk panels to get to it.
I tried it and couldn't get the phone buttons to work but please post it up if you happen to get it working. |

I just installed the JVC KW-NT800HDT and AXXESS on my 09 Touring w/ Bose (w/o Navi) and auto-programming of the AXXESS got the volume buttons, like most people. It also made the phone hang-up button the mute button on the head unit for some reason. So, I did the manual programming (tried 3 times) but can't get the JVC to recognize any of the other buttons (even track next/previous). The AXXESS shows it's receiving a signal from each of the buttons when manually programming it (the LED lights up), but they don't do anything with the head unit.
I know some people said you have to mess with the bluetooth module in the trunk (jump some wires), so I took all that apart, but my connector doesn't match any of the diagrams / pictures (both from AXXESS or on this forum (like this post)). For each of the 3 connections that need to be made, one of the wires that's involved isn't there. (I'm going by pin locations, not colors.) Do the other buttons on the steering wheel rely on that bluetooth module in the back? Is there some trick to getting them to work? I'd love all buttons, including the phone ones, but even track next/prev would be really nice. Last edited by nurseryboy; 08-15-2012 at 05:48 PM. |
