Help with problem
Hi-
Today, I noticed that my newly installed fronts with Fosgate 300-2 amp (Bose/nav LCI6) would cut out periodically. Once it happened, it would happen more frequently. The fronts would not cut out completely, just way lower in volume. Five seconds later, set volume would be restored. Two or three minutes later, same thing would happen. (This was the longest period of time that I drove the car -- about 1 hour) Do you think this is the amp going into "limp" mode from overheating? (Volume was set at abot 75% or so.) Or is it some other problem? Just trying to get some idea from you good folks before I talk to the installer with whom I've lost alot of confidence in. Timely response most appreciated. Bill |

No water on speakers.
Is it possible that the Bose amp driving the rear fill and sub is sensing too much power thus cutting power to all outputs including the ones connected to the converter/Fosgate? Something tells me that's it. Comments please. TIA |

BigNate--
We're in Aiken. And to everyone else, thanks for your help. I just wanted to get some ideas from you before I spoke to the dealer/installer which I've now done. We'll see what the problem is after I get a chance to bring it in and see/measure what's going on. This time I'm going to be there when all work is done instead of dealing with the audio upgrade as a "black box" kind of thing where I don't know how it was wired. For example, I instructed him NOT to use the factory wiring ... he says he didn't but I don't know for sure. Part of the problem is that I'm not talking directly to the person who did the work but the shop owner. Again, thanks for the help everyone. |
