Alpine and Kenwood, followed by Pioneer, would by my top 3 choices.

djpathfinder 01-15-2012 11:58 PM

Alpine INA-W900 head unit
Alpine HCE-C117D back up cam

brianryan8 01-16-2012 01:18 AM

how about the Pioneer AVIC-X930BT??

brianryan8 01-16-2012 01:18 AM

any specific model ?

I just agonized over this decision. I wanted the Kenwood because of Garmin Navigation, but I went down and played with the units, and the lag would have driven me nuts. Decided on the Alpine INA-W910BT. Lightning fast response, clean, easy interface. Excellent audio...

How about the pioneer? I saw the alpine on YouTube. Seems to have not much of an attractive interface and the price on amazon is more expensive. $700 +

That may be, but it is FAST very very fast compared to the other brands.

I would take alpine over kenwood and kenwood over pioneer.

Thinking about it, Thea lag would be a big issue. Would I be able to hook up to my wheel buttons?

Played with the Pioneer too. Absolutely did not like it. That's just my personal opinion...

My installer is hooking up my Alpine W910 to my steering wheel controls with the Metra Axxess harness

I am gonna wait untill April for the updated kenwoods to be out as I like the interface best. The supposedly changed the prosessors so make it much faster( apparently its at least 3 times faster).

Was thinking of buying the Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD 7" In-Dash Double-DIN player. Looks great! With a good price below 400

Astrosfan 01-17-2012 11:16 AM

I recently went through the same decision. Price was important to me and so was a reliable GPS and a good quick interface. I got the pioneer avic-x930bt and am happy with it!

if price wasnt an issue, i would have gone with the alpine or a new kenwood.

90 ST 01-17-2012 04:16 PM

Kenwood has a couple double din 8" coming out...maybe worth a wait.

Not to mention support android.

Opinions are like a$$holes: everybody's got one. Personally, I have the Pioneer 920BT and I love it.

brianryan8 01-18-2012 02:46 AM

Was thinking of the 930BT. But I live in Guam. I don't need navigation. So I was thinking of getting the Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD. It looks great! And 200 bucks cheaper.

RekeHavoc 01-18-2012 12:39 PM

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not looking to spend a ton and I don't really need nav, BT, or HD radio. If you can wait a few weeks, Pioneer has several new 2012 models coming out that you might be interested in. Follow this link and filter by Pioneer to see them. The AVH-P2400BT is at a nice price point and I really like how clean the SPH-DA01 looks. Hope this helps!!

If you want a bigger touchscreen and are on a budget, I doubt there's better value than the P4300
