Default New Speaker wires?

OK, if I upgrade the HU (Alpine W910) and just upgrade the door speakers to Polk Audio Coaxials (651's?) will I be able to use the OEM speaker wires? I understand the Component 6501's will be nicer, but I'm not an audiophile by any means...

Sorry, did a search and couldn't find a clear answer...

I would not at all recommend to do this.

By running your own wires you bypass any change of interference from stock resistors or other things.

Plus it will be easier to add the new crossover and than add new wires from them to the new speakers.

So if I go with the Polk DB6501 Components, will I need to add an amp to drive them, or will they function ok with just the Alpine HU?

You should be fine. I believe these are pretty efficient. I had the same speakers in my 350. I did have a small amp running them though. No matter what, they will be heads and tails above the stock set up.
