Audio Install: Now Car Won't Start

I just installed the pioneer 4300, axxess steering control switch, and bazooka sub. I got all the audio stuff and harnesses connected, go to start the car, and nothing... All I get is a constant flashing "key" light and the "NO KEY" in the cluster. Ive heard of the steering lock failure, but before I tow it to the dealer, I want to make sure there isn't an easy fix for this or just a screw up on my part. Any help would be great!

BTW, on a very rare occasion I can get to accessory and key on/engine off, but no start and the "NO KEY" lit up.

did you put your key in the slot in the dash?

6spd 01-09-2012 06:30 AM

oh yeah, sorry, it does start that way.

Baer383 01-09-2012 07:31 AM

Mine did the same thing I just got out of the car and locked it with the remote unlocked it and it started right up.

i tried that and no luck

make sure everything got pluged back in, and maybe try the second remote. worst case unhook the battery for a few minutes and hook it back up and try again.

it's the RF antenna in your center console. it's probably left unplugged. :)

Where is this in the console? My car constantly doesn't want to realize I have the key until I take it out of my pocket (batteries are good). I want to see if maybe I can mess with it (or put my keys in the other pocket).

if you pull up your center console you will see a thinner wire running on the driver's seat side. that leads to the antenna. it needs to be plugged in.

This should be included in the "Problems and Fixes" sticky... I've always referenced that section when working on my car, and it would have been the first place I'd have looked if I ran into this problem.

i agree. i found nothing about this after endless searching.

kenchan 01-10-2012 12:54 PM

probably because no one knew the antenna was there. :icon17:

But can you please explain where this antenna plugs into? Is it plugged into the radio? where might this plug be? thanks,

 we are talking about the RF module for the intelligent key. the antenna for the radio is located i think in the passenger side rear quarter area.

Yeah, I figurered that was what y'll were talking about, so I was asking where does that RF module antenna plug into? I guess I am asking you where is the module located that the antenna plugs into. I understand that the antenna is under the console.
