Default Swap 2009 navigation for 2011

Ok, here's my dilemma. I wanted the navtool and backup camera for my car. I ask for it for Christmas and no matter how much I reason with my dad, he continues to say, "I want it done right" and "whatever it costs, we are gonna put in the 2011 nav"

So basically, to appease him, is it even possible swapping them out? I don't even know the differences in the two. Also does the 2011 nav automatically come with a backup camera? I think he's just being a PITA but its whatever I guess. He's paying not me.

It may be, as long as they have not changed the cabling around which I sort of doubt they have. Because the base systems wiring has not changed over the years I do not think the bose system wiring would of changed.

One thing that would be missing is the antenna wire and the actual antenna for the GPS itself, thats if hes doing a complete swap.

Of course it's possible. Anything is possible!

I did this swap on my G37. It should be very similar in the 370z. It's not a simple swap and play. It required replacing the screen and the a/v system, along with rewiring of the harnesses.

But the graphics and resolution of the 2010 system is 100x better than the 2008. Plus, you can play videos and music through USB and DVDs too.

Here are a couple of pictures:

Nice! Could you tell me how much it costs and possibly where to buy the screen?

You need both the screen and radio/av/navigation unit. I found mine from a junkyard. You're looking around 1000-1500 if you do the install yourself.

i was also thinking about doing this. since i feel the 2009 nav is kinda crappy compared to the 2010+. but wow its pretty pricey. keep us updated on how it goes if you do it op

Default How did it go?

Were you able to do this? I am really interested in doing the same thing. I'm mostly interested in getting the Bluetooth audio (for doing Music & Cell from my iPhone at the same time) feature that's included in the 2010+ models. The upgraded graphics is a plus too though!

I did not. I figured up the cost and decided to put the money into buying a Fast Intentions exhaust. It sounds so much better than any bluetooth streaming music

Good choice Most phones do better nav than factory units anyways, and get better updates too.

You can not swap out the factory nav with a aftermarket unit. Once you buy the OEM nav your stuck with it.

What happened with this? Was it successful?? If so, what was needed to do this?
