I would not recommend running 6X9's two reasons being that you can not get them in component sets and two 6.5's will actually produce the same if not better sound. Also You would be more limited to how deep you can go with a 6X9 because the center of the magnent would be centered to the hold instead of towards the bottom.

Do they make a 6x9 component, I dont think I've ever seen anything like that.

Sorry im new to the audio world what is the advantage to buying a component set versus just a speaker

A component set is gonna have the tweeter separated from the actual speaker, which you can mount pretty much anywhere. They must be run by an amplifier, and 9 outta 10 times sound louder and much better than just speakers not being run on an amp.

No very few if any are out there the big boys are the 6.5's

The stock speakers in my 370Z are 6x9' components.

What?? No offense, but I doubt nissan would have a setup like that, but I may be wrong.

The bose system in the z is 6X9's but the base system is 6.5. Besides I would far from call the stock systems good quality.
