California build thread

Well thought I would get this thread started for the up coming week.
Looking forward to doing a total of 6 370z's including one roadster.
Pics will be uploaded at the end of the day with full details as you all come to expect from my builds.

As for those of you that do not know: I was flown to California for 9 days by 6 people to do work on their 370z's. Here is that thread SoCal: BIGAUDIOFANATIC will come AND build it..

Matt's work is flawless! Everything worked on the first try and he ran the wires so nicely that it looks like the system came like that from factory. Very professional and he is a perfectionist when working on our cars. Takes his time and triple checks everything. Sounds amazing!!!! Thanks a lot Matt for everything. Everyone who is waiting to get theirs installed, you will be happier than you can imagine after Matt finishes your installs. I have been walking back and forth to my garage all night finding excuses to listen to it.

That's exactly how I felt when I was driving home after my install and 2 and half years later, not a single problem with all the stuff he installed (Kenwood HU with microphone, NAV and SIRIUS, Rear foglight THEZSTORE harness, Back up camera etc). Matt is a great installer and he does his work with a passion. You can pay ANYONE to get your stereo installed but someone who cares and loves what they do and takes their time and does it right, now that's priceless. Also, he wouldn't be in Blue (audio installer) on our forum if I didn't like his work . He always takes his time and shrink wraps every welded connection. How many installers do that these days?



Keep up the good work Matt. I'm looking forward to seeing all the installs.

Next up we have threeseventy

Basically he wanted to keep the stock head unit and add a little more Bump. We started this last last night and I knew we would never get it done, so this morning I cam and finished it. Today "day 2" was two installs.
So we installed:

Polk DB 6.5's
Boston Acoustic amp
Kenwood KSC-SW10

The car




Installed new speakers and ran new wires.






Soldered and heat shrink as usual


Installed


All wires organized




Power wire ran




All stock wires ran to the new sub and high level inputs on the amp


Amp installed


Wires cleaned up




Sub installed


All and all I was impressed with the quality of sound that the amp and sub were producting as they were getting high level inputs.

Finished the build yesterday but forgot finished pics.

NOTE The bose system is not something to have be taken as a easy upgrade. I ran into a few problems and one still exists, alternator wine!! We are still trying to figure out if there is a way to get rid of it our last hope is a noise filter or ground loop isolator. I will be putting up a in depth write up on the bose system and upgrading it. In the end if you even think you are not going to be happy with the bose, either get a base or the bose system without nav, because once you have the nav you can not take it out.

Today was my very first convertible z!

Let me just say it was a learning experience. Much more to deal with in terms of where things are ran and how to get them to the trunk.
