I'm trying to shave weight for my car and want to remove the radio but some how keep or add a device where I still can plug my Iphone up to listen to music for thise long halls. Can this be done? Just still want that great sound instead of earphones.

You are not going to lose any weight by the time you add the devices needed to amp the signal from your ipod.

Basically your head unit right now pulls a signal from the radio or AUX port than takes that signal and uses its internal amp t0 up the power than sends that power to your speakers.

Your ipod is made to run small headphones not large speakers at 4 ohms. So you would still have to add an amp to amplify the ipod's signal before sending it to the speakers.

If you really do not want to miss your music on the long hauls take headphones or a ipod dock.

Thanks. If that the case I might as well take the speakers out. That's no issue either. Thanks for your help.

Get a single din radio, and in essence you cut half your weight of your factory radio, being that your factory radio is a double din.

You will need a mounting bracket to make the radio fit, unless you get a double din radio, you can go to crutchfield.com to find the parts that you need to install whichever radio you choose.

eRep eh?
