I for one don't mind the noise so much, reminds me that I bought a sports car not a family sedan. =)

You bring up a good point too.

You made a good point Imperial...

That's what I tell everyone who complains about the beautiful imperfections of the Nismo... it's a sports car. I would have bought an Infinity instead if I thought the noise was going to be a problem but I knew the noise issue could be remedied with a fix. And isn'ton that why we buy narrow-focused sports cars so we can modify them...just like I did to to my 1969 Opel GT. I look at those times and compare them to now and feel like the Nismo a luxury car! (and the Nismo is a luxury for me). Guess the Nismo had spoiled me a little bit! :driving:

Incidently, I located the mic on the ceiling light dome panel...it can't get any closer.

Happy motoring guys
Steve

I know one thing for sure, buying the 370z is the most I've ever spent on a car... haha

Figtuna 11-27-2011 09:19 AM

Thanks Again

I had the Continentals Extreme Contacts installed and they made a HUGE difference with the noise issue. I got 21500 from the Yokohamas and the rear tread was almost gone. I'm still going to pursue the sound deadening material for the rear fenders & the tire well and the doors. Thanks for all the help fellas....great thread!

There are 26 letters in the alphabet but only ONE Z!

and one A, B, C..... silly

if the nismo wasnt my DD, and i didnt care about how my music sounds i would have left the sound deadening issue alone..... buuuut after the second day of owning the car i was already buying some. the car is loud inside! add in rear tires that are a foot wide and its unbearable for daily commuting.

smokejr 12-01-2011 05:53 PM

Anyone line there roof? friend said alot of noise comes thru it to?? I lined my
trunk and doors, but I have not put the interior back in yet to test out, still
working on the install.

eastwest2300 12-02-2011 12:49 AM

Man, I dont have the time to take off all the panels and apply sound proof material, its just sooo tedious.. lol, if it gets that bad, I'll pay someone to do it for me.

haitech 12-02-2011 01:48 AM

I didn't think our cars were that loud to be needing sound proofing. Lining the roof is pretty ridiculous

Tires

I'm here to tell you first hand that the Continental tires I had mounted have solved the sound issue. My Blue tooth works fine now and I don't have to keep the volume of the stereo cranked up so much......It's a miracle! It's as quite as my Lexus RX350 and the ride is not as "harsh". These are the same tires that the fellas used on their 370z Nismo performance project car in the recent issue of or Nissan Sport.

See ya:tup:

I'd agree with you.

Im looking for tires too, can you post up the model of those continental tires?

Tire Info

Jay:

I bought them thru Tire Rack on line. the shipping was $70 (Atlanta to Gulf Shores, AL). They were UPS ground but arrived the next day! I took them down to Big 10 Tires and they mounted & Balanced for <$70. Here is the link from Tire Rack:

Continental ExtremeContact DW

The whole process was painless, I swear the difference between the Yoko and the Conti's is light years apart!
