Big do you know if 4v preouts are required for the Bose? I have heard that volume levels are too low with 2v. That is my major concern when picking a head unit. Anyone else that has upgraded the Bose head unit is free to chime in too.

I bought a Kenwood Excelon unit with 4V preouts that Im using to run 3 aftermarket amps, the deck made my entire system sound vibrant, it sounded good with the deck that I had before, now it just sounds alive, pretty much.

Understood but I am wondering if 4v is required for a Bose amp... heard that once or twice.

My assumption is that the Bose amp is calibrated to run at approx
4v since it is used with just the stock HU. Probably uses higher voltage since there is no built in amp in the radio (maximizes sound quality).

With adding in a video head unit, won't you need a different faceplate than the normal Metra/Scoshe ones we use on base models... Is there one out there?
