Static sound on my pioneer avic-d2 !!help!

I installed my pioneer avic-d2 navagttion stereo..but i hear alot of static in the backround and my radio stations keep breaking off...i bought the new harness and new antenna! and i put the ground wire right on the bracket that holds the stereo..so that is all metal...what could be the problem? thanks!

Try moving the ground to one of the four holes that surround the shift knob.

Also is this a bose system? Any amps installed?

djsekz 11-13-2011 02:29 PM

I dont have bose...but they said the car has a stock amp?

djsekz 11-13-2011 02:31 PM

You mean the holes that are Bolts ? that hold the whole shifter?

djsekz 11-13-2011 02:32 PM

There is no amp unless you have a bose system so you need the regular harness.

Yes the bolts around the shifter there is 4 in total.

djsekz 11-13-2011 02:40 PM

bigaudiofanat 11-13-2011 02:56 PM

Those blue wires are normally a power antenna and remote lead for an aftermarket amplifier.

the blue wire needs 12v to power the antenna booster on the Z. i just tapped it to the remote blue/white power wire on my setup.

djsekz 11-16-2011 02:15 AM

so connect it to the blue/white wire?

eastwest2300 11-16-2011 03:17 AM

The wires should be one for one, meaning..from the headunit to the aftermarket harness that plugs into your factory harness (so that you dont have to cut and splice into your factory wiring). They should match up color for color, 95% of the time.

I forgot to mention, I accept eRep all day, 24/7, 365.

eastwest2300 11-16-2011 10:25 PM

You should post up pics of what you got (wiring wise) so we can point out and explain what you need to do. Just a thought.
