My New Head Unit and Subs

Hi Guys and Gals,

This is not my first post, but it is my first introduction. My name is Gale, and I live in Hot Atlanta :) I first had a 2006 350Z, and traded her in for a 2009 370Z, which I must say, love a lot better.

My first mod, was adding a Berk CBE and HFC with drop in air filter, wihich I got from FBNISSAN installed by Z1, both sponsors here.

I now wanted a better sound system,..... Bose sucks!...... so after months of searching and looking at different installs, and not wanting to go crazy expensive, I came up with this.

Head Unit Pioneer AVH P4300
Front Speakers Polk DB6501
Rear view Camera Pioneer ND-BC4
Subs JL 8W1V2
Amp Alpine PDX-5

A Big THANKS!!! to Rocket Science Audio in Hiram Ga. who did the entire install, and sound dampening my entire car,.....by the way, if you need work done, great set of guys!

Sorry for crappy phone pic.

Looks cool

What else did you pick up for the HU, radio controls working good?

fran3365 10-27-2011 10:26 AM

Thanks.....yes I did pick-up steering wheel control as well as the IPod cable....all of which works

49erZ 10-27-2011 12:56 PM

Set up does look pretty sweet, did you sell your Bose speakers?

How much did it run you if you dont mind me asking? Did you get all the stuff from the same site/place? I found the HU under 300 so far, but not sure on which steering controls to get or where is the best site to get those from?

Thanks

looks like a big game controller in the trunk. :D

fran3365 10-27-2011 01:43 PM

No I did not sell my Bose speakers, I still have my back ones in, it's crank them down, so they are fillers.

I paid $325 for my Head Unit from amazon, with the PAC for steering controls.

I got all the components myself, from both amazon and ebay, got the sound dampening from RAAMmat... like I said did not want to go crazy expensive. All Rocket Science did, was come up with the design of the sub box, wiring and and all install.

NickTurnon 10-27-2011 04:30 PM

How much was the damage?

fran3365 10-28-2011 10:39 AM

Alll in all, it cost me a total of $4000, install and components.

"I now wanted a better sound system,..... Bose sucks!...... so after months of searching and looking at different installs, and not wanting to go crazy expensive, I came up with this."- YOU

$4000= Achieved "a crazy expensive" system.

I mean, don't get me wrong, it looks great. But its not really an "affordable" system for ANYone.

For future reference, dyna mat is a waste of $300-500

But cheers to looking good, I would buy it if I wanted blow 4 grand

fran3365 10-28-2011 02:14 PM

$4000 is not crazy expensive to me....seeing that I dropped $9000 in my 350Z

Dyna mat did help,...not only did it quiet down some road noise, but also improved the sound quality....so for me it was money well spent

bigaudiofanat 10-28-2011 02:16 PM

Correct the install I did for another Z owner was almost 8k and I have seen some that go over 10 and that is not for a crazy bass system either!

fran3365 10-28-2011 02:17 PM

Thank You bigaudiofant
