Default Power wire lead - Passerger side

I am planning to pass through the passenger side of the firewall a 4-gauge power wire from the battery to the amp to be located in the hatch area. Their is an existing small hole with a rubber grommet located below the battery sized perfectly for a 4 gauge power wire. I can send the power wire through this hole in the firewall, however, it gets hung up in the interior's carpet pad. This is my chose since it keeps the power wire away from the 370Z's wiring harness so as to not induce interference.

Does anyone know if it is better to unfasten the carpet or just poke a hole in the carpet pad in order to send the power wire through the firewall?

I was able to just drop the wire right down through that grommet with no trouble from the carpet. worst case just un hook the carpet and run the wire under it along the kick panel.

Use the grommet right behind the battery for your power wire. It is safe and simple.

Yeah the power wire passes through this grommet without much problem except it gets hung up on the carpet pad.

Also, what's involve with lowering the glove box door in order to access the carpet located up along the firewall?

4 screws on the top, one on either side, once you open the glove box. Just a note with the glove box out you should be able to see the spot where the wire will come out.

If you continue to feed the wire into the car you should not have to remove the glove box.
