2009 Nissan 370Z ipod INterface

my 370z is missing ipod connector that came with car. Have been trying to locate replacement for it. I even called dealership and the idiots there could not tell me what part number it is, let alone if it is available on my car!
which it is! Help, can anyone give me the part number or a listing of where i can buy! I can hear ipod using a/v connections but no visual on Nav system or touch screen, also no steering wheel availability.
Thanks.

Cant you use your ipod cable that came with your ipod? Plug it into the usb port?

2009 year models don't have a USB port, all they have is the RCA connections in the center console, as well as the plug that the OP is talking about.

Also, not to sound like an ***, but make sure you check the glovebox. I thought mine was missing when I first got the car but I found it a few days later right there in the glovebox.

What kind of Ipod do you have? I ask because I have a new I-Touch and had to buy an adapter ($17.00) in order for the I-Pod to charge as you use it!

fjpthree, do you mind linking the one you got that will also do charging? That would be really useful!

Not to get off point of the question. But why does the ipod or in my case iphone4 sound better when using the plug in over wireless bluetooth.

when playing audio it sounds way better when its pluged in.
when using bluetooth there is a big difference.

Purchased mine from Amazon ($10). This will allow you to charge your I-Pod while it is connected in your car.
Amazon.com: iPod / iPhone Charging Adapter Converter (Black) - Convert 12V to 5V - Converts Old iPod Dock, iPod Alpine, Pioneer and Car Hook Ups to 5V Allowing You to Charge the New iPod and iPhones: MP3 Players & Accessories

I dont think you can see the ipod screen on your nav screen when youre driving, you need an override for that

fjpthree 10-12-2011 06:30 PM

I control my I-Pod thru my Nav screen. I have full functionality with the steering wheel controls as well.

Read up on Bluetooth a2dp - basically bandwidth is limited and commonly a low capability at low bandwidth codec is used which further limits quality.
