New rules for installs
Effective immediately I will ask every customer who's car I work on to pay at least half the labor cost up front.
The following link explains why. Complaint about BlueAC - DIYMA.com - Scientific Car Audio - Truth in Sound Quality Also any used equipment that is brought to me I can not guarantee it to work properly as I do not know the previous condition of the equipment. I'm not sure why but you get a lot of sketchy people in the car audio/performance industry, customers and installers the like. He is officially on blast but what can you do at this point? I would wash my hands and just be a prick in the future.

Oh I walked away. I was not going to beat the issue to death. Just lesson learned and I move on.

Yah, sorry to hear. paying 1/2 upfront is understandable and there should be documentation for your terms and conditions...wat you will support, wat will be the customer's responsibility if they brought their own gear, etc.

Not sure I would be down with paying half to a person who doesn't have a business license.
I understand you have to cover your ***, but for someone who doesn't know you personally, they have to cover theirs too, you know? IMO (if you haven't already), get licensed, bonded, and insured if you want to start taking deposits. Trust has to go both ways. |
