^^^ agree………being forced to take statistics and probability in college (required course), I know there is a small, hopefully a very very small chance for failure in ANY manufactured product! Maybe “someone” who has bad luck with one particular product (Pioneer) is just …………someone who is unlucky!! |
the biggest factor in Big's case is that HE installed the pioneers for his customers and they all died. :D ;) kidding big. :D (or am i? :stirthepot: :icon17: )
pioneers are great, imho. i'd get another one down the road. |
^^^ Exactly………….I was thinking the same thing!!! lol
|
^^^ Actually………..it does make good business sense……….way to go big
|
maybe alpines have a larger profit margin? :stirthepot:
i keed, i keed :happydance: |
^^^ That’s a “BIG” possibility! I just had to say that………….the window was wide open!

Hey I just know that I am not the only person who has had trouble with pioneer the OP'er for example. There is a huge thread on pioneer being junk on caraudio.com Last time I looked it was over 20 pages. But hey what do they know there only previous owners of pioneer products. |
yah wat do they know big, wat do they know. lol :D
ive owned kenwood, alpine, sony, jvc, clarion, and pioneer (i think im missing a few brands..). none of them broke down on me. |
i'm just messin' with you bud. i think all of the major manufacturers make quality products (alpine, pioneer, kenwood, sony, etc). from that point, when i recommend a head unit to someone it depends on if they have any specific requirements for the unit that others don't and/or the interface
|
^^^ I totally agree………..but I still think the newer Alpines could be a little better!
|
Does anyone have any experience with Pioneer Stage 4? Specifically the DEX-P99RS?

Can’t seem to find those 20+ pages? Maybe you should post the link so we can see who posted!! Anyone we know?? lol |
to the OP: I could have swore i posted this up a few days ago, but anyway. There is a forum called AVIC411.com there is a lot of helpful tips there.
I had an avic f900bt and I made my own themes and what not for it, it was a great headunit for me. Anyway, I had the same problem at one point while tweaking some things. It would reset over and over after the "initial boot" What you need to do, to reset the firmware is to get it into what is called "test mode" you will need a sd card to do this. Just look on avic411 and look for testmode and how to install new/reset to original firmware. This should fix you up. It was a great forum that I used to be a part of for a long time. Hope this helps! :tiphat: |
