Default Custom center console slit for iPhone?

I'm always plugging in my iphone to the center console usb plug and then sticking the phone into the cup holder but then there are times i need to put a small drink or other chit into the cup holder so I was wondering how neat it'd be to have a custom slit next to the center console so you can just drop it in, set it, and forget it. Also, finished off with felt fabric as to not scratch up the phone

Even better would be having the ipod/iphone dock inside the slit so u can just directly plug them in without reaching for the cable.

All this talk about slits is making me

But srsly, Daisuke was talking about this at some point, the side leg pads... having a pocket built into them... Maybe even being able to run cable into them so you slide it in and it's a dock right there... Would be kinda neat to see done nicely.

Not gonna lie, that's pretty wicked. Especially for base model guys... Touring or vert guys might not be able to enjoy it though. I think it would probably look better if you could find a black base to blend with the console a lot better...

I just use this

Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector for Cable Attachment*-*ProClip Car Mounts for Mobile Phones, GPS, and Handheld Devices

Cable tucks behind the stereo on the side and plugs into an ipod adapter for the bose unit.

i've seen that thread before. he did an awesome job on that, but the touring model needs an alternative to that as to not lose the heated seats and extra switch.

i'm a bit anal about keeping things clean and minimalistic, so the Belkin and other phone docks to me tend to make it messy, especially with exposed wires.

so i guess when i have enough balls, i'll see if i can custom fabricate the pocket slit that i've envisioned in my head.

man all this talk about slits, anal, and balls....

Nice. Been listening for years. Best weekly shows are on there. Don't want to get off topic.
