I have the Bose system. Should I go with one 10" or two?

I forgot to ask, is it as simple as swapping out the bose subs with new ones? I guess I will need a new amp as well, right? I will

I guess I will need a new amp as well, right? I will be taking it to a shop for the install, I just want to make sure its possible to swap out the bose subs for two of my choice.
